Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using OrbitalMatch (“Service”), operated by OrbitalMatch (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Description of Service

OrbitalMatch is a mission coordination platform for the space industry that enables payload teams, launch providers, and ground support organizations to collaborate on space missions. The Service includes mission management, provider matching, messaging, file sharing, and launch schedule information.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate, current information during registration and keep your profile information up to date. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Share ITAR-controlled, classified, or export-restricted technical data through the platform
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or mission data
  • Upload malicious files or content
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from the Service
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Circumvent any security measures or access controls

5. Mission Data & Intellectual Property

Mission data you create (specifications, descriptions, files, comments) remains your intellectual property. By uploading content to OrbitalMatch, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and transmit that content to other authorized mission participants as necessary to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your mission data.

6. Provider Matching Services

OrbitalMatch offers two provider matching modes:

  • Match — Uses OrbitalMatch's internal algorithm to score and rank launch providers based on mission specifications including orbit type, payload mass, launch region, and payload class. All processing occurs on OrbitalMatch's servers. No mission data is transmitted to third parties.
  • Match+ — An enhanced matching mode that supplements the internal algorithm with AI-powered analysis. When activated, anonymized mission specifications (orbit type, payload mass, launch region, budget range, and special requirements text) are transmitted to Anthropic's Claude API for natural language analysis. No personally identifiable information, user names, organization names, or account data is transmitted. The AI analysis provides additional ranking insights and match explanations. Match+ is optional and user-initiated — it only activates when the user explicitly clicks the Match+ button.

Both matching modes produce recommendations only. OrbitalMatch does not guarantee provider availability, pricing, or compatibility. Users should independently verify all provider capabilities before entering into agreements.

7. Launch Data

Launch schedule information displayed on OrbitalMatch is sourced from The Space Devs Launch Library 2 API, a third-party open data service. OrbitalMatch does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of launch data. Launch schedules are provided for informational purposes only.

8. File Uploads

Files uploaded to OrbitalMatch are stored on Vercel Blob storage. Files are accessible only to authenticated mission participants through OrbitalMatch's access controls. Maximum file size is 10MB. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any files you upload.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using OrbitalMatch, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

OrbitalMatch is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Mission data you created may be retained for a reasonable period to support other participants' ongoing access.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
